On August 26th, 2022, Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) announced that it held an inception ceremony for ‘The 1st MVL School’ with blockchain mobility platform MVL and Thmar Koul district government at Outakki Secondary School in Battambang, Cambodia.
This ceremony was attended by Mr.Chea Sambath, the Governor of Thmar Koul district, Mr. Kay Woo, the CEO of MVL, and Mr. Jang Dongwon, the country director of GNC, and 300 students and teachers together.
GNC and MVL will support the construction of an ICT-Based MVL Good Learning Center, school office, and toilet at Outakki Secondary School, and have a plan to support the class for English, ICT, and librarian education programs on built infrastructure in 2023.
Prior to this ceremony, GNC and MVL signed MOU to improve education infrastructures in underdeveloped areas in Cambodia by 2026 and support digital education programs and reading training by utilizing ICT libraries. Building 100 schools in Cambodia is the vision of GNC and MVL.
Mr. Kay Woo, the CEO of the MVL, said “MVL is trying to create an environment where many students from all over Cambodia can receive digital education. We will continue to fully support the ‘MVL School’ project so that students in Cambodia, who have had difficult circumstances, can study to their heart’s content, and develop their talents. And it is also in line with the principle of me and my team at MVL to create a better world” in the speech at the ceremony.
Also, Mr. Jang Dongwon, the Country Director, said that “We are pleased to announce the start of the MVL School project for Cambodian children with this inception ceremony. We, the GNC, will provide an opportunity for children to study in a good educational environment and healthy growth by expanding support not only in the Battambang area but also to venerable areas through deeper collaboration with MVL.”
