Poverty is a complex problem, and it is also a cross-sectional phenomenon. GNC addresses the root causes of poverty in a holistic way by focusing on five forms of development: physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development.

Transformational development is the process through which children and communities identify the root causes of poverty and address these by changing mind-sets and behaviors. Therefore, transformational development addresses poverty by holistic interventions that target the five aspects mentioned above.

In order to practice transformational development, Good Neighbors Cambodia trains staff in holistic development and paradigm shift, and partners with communities to empower children, families and communities with the necessary knowledge and resources to improve the quality of life and children’s well-being.
