Sok San primary school is one of GNC partners located in Sok San commune, Koah Nhaek district, Mondulkiri province. Students encountered difficulty with safe and hygiene defecation due to the lack of WASH facilities and water source to function the school toilet.
As a result, GNC installed 1 set of solar water pump inside the school campus to supply the water, function the school toilet, handwashing space and turn the school garden into life. Finally, the school principal and relevant local authority thanked to GNC for being the best partner in community development. They also emphasized that the installation of solar water pump to supply water in school is such a good initiative to contribute the environmental preservation and meanwhile supply the sustainable energy which never before had the school at remote areas capable of accomplishing; due to the lack of resource and technical assistance.
“Students can now enjoy the good sanitation and hygiene practice without moving far distance, and I am glad that the school has become cleaner and friendlier with enough water.” Mr. Som Sokhoeun, principal of Sok San primary school.
