Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) is expanding access to high-quality hand-washing facilities to influence people to wash up more frequently and boost good hygiene practices for community people and children, particularly at school. With Lions Club support, GNC completed three hand washing stations at schools in the Thmar Kol community and officially announced its readiness to students on 16th February 2024.

Lions Club and GNC handed over Ou Taki, Aek Phnom, and Kruos Good Hand washing Station to students with pleasure and congratulations in Ou Taki primary school in Battambang province presided over by the present of Ms. Suh Heejung, the representative of Lions Club, Mr. Jang Dongwon Country Director of Good Neighbors Cambodia and Chairman of Council of Korean Development NGOs in Cambodia, Mr. Ream Soviet (the School Principal), Korean visitors, local partner, teachers, students and community people.

Moreover, taking advantage of this good opportunity, visitors prepared and distributed 200 study materials set to primary students, hoping it would encourage them to love education and enjoy their school time with good WASH and hygiene practices.

During the event, Mr. Ream Soviet expressed his gratitude to donors and GNC for supporting schools and students. He said the hand-washing station is another new project GNC provided for our school. GNC participation made a significant contribution to students and teachers. As the school principal, I am committed to maintaining this hand-washing station and encouraging students to practice hand-washing regularly.

Ms. Suh Heejung showed interest and gratitude to teachers, students, and the TK community for the warmest welcome and the hard work to make the Lions Club mission happen and benefit Cambodia as expected. She stated, “We hope this hand-washing station will benefit many students who can wash their hands any time. May all students practice good hygiene so that they can be healthy. When we are healthy, our studies can achieve the same good results. I hope that all the students here will be an important resource for Cambodia and the hope of Cambodia in the future.”
