On 2nd of August, 2024, KB Kookmin Bank (President & CEO, Lee Jae Keun) held the 12th Advanced course kick-off ceremony cooperating with Korea Sofeware HRD Center and Good Neighbors Cambodia.

Since 2023, KB Kookmin Bank has supported the remodeling of the HRD Center and the operation of the Advanced IT Course, creating a comfortable and inspiring learning environment for aspiring IT students. Additionally, KB Kookmin Bank has provided scholarships to 61 students who hold degrees from the top-tier IT universities in Cambodia.

This year, the 60 students who managed to graduate from the HRD Center’s challenging Basic IT Course will venture on to the Advanced IT Course where they will be equipped with the theoretical skills relevant to the 2024 labor market, including data analysis, mobile operating systems, blockchains, etc. Through team projects, the students will also get the opportunity to strengthen their practical and socio-emotional capabilities by developing cutting-edge digital solutions that are directly applicable in the real world. This educational package will make the 60 students very attractive to today’s leading companies and will pave the way for successful careers now and in the future.

A KB Kookmin Bank spokesperson said, “We will actively strive to resolve digital polarization by helping Cambodia develop digital technology and supporting IT talent development,” and“We will continue to embrace and support diverse vulnerable groups not only in our country (Korea) but also globally and do our utmost to practice corporate social responsibility”.

The adherence to this promise can be illustrated in KB Kookmin Bank’s efforts in inviting Cambodian children with heart disease to Korea every year since 2012, and providing free surgery, giving new life to about 100 children. In addition, the ‘KB Kookmin Bank Hebron Medical Heart Center ‘ was established in Cambodia in 2014. The project has continued to find new hope for Cambodian children through early diagnosis and treatment.
