Clean water is such a treasure that we take for granted in rural areas of Cambodia. Without regard, Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) establishes access to clean water for communities in Ratanakiri province through funds and strong support from FILA Group.
On 18th January 2024, GNC organized an official water filtration system handing-over ceremony to health centers and community people presided over by Mr. Hin Vinn, Deputy Governor of Konmom District, and Mr. Kang Saroeun, Governor of the district administration of Borkeo, and others 205 participants who are project partners and beneficiaries.
The event started with a statement about the living conditions of residents. Mr. Hin Vinn stated that Ratanakiri province is a remote area where people lack awareness about proper living, clean water, and hygiene. Most people use water sources from streams, lakes, or wells without purification. He then congratulates the health centers and community people for receiving a modern and high-quality water system producing clean water for drinking and use in daily life. Additionally, on behalf of all households, he expressed his gratitude to donor FILA Group and Good Neighbors Cambodia for supporting the Konmom district with access to good health and a good life.
Good Neighbors Cambodia is delighted to see community people have access to new hope in the health sector and is honored to be a part of FILA Group’s contributions to Cambodians. The support of the water systems will make a specific change in livelihood because water is the most significant source of good health, and access to clean water is the right Cambodians should receive foremost. We hope this support will reduce health issues and convey hope and happiness to the community.
