On the 26 of October, International Rotary Club 3750 district, Dongtan Rotary Club (chairman, KIM SE-HOON) members visited Cambodia to hand over the ‘Play here’ of MVL, a modern and safe playground, to Prey Sa Primary School and distributed 524 sets of school bag and study materials for students. For this event, Mr. KIM SE-HOON, the chairman of the Rotary Club, Mr. TIT PHANIT, Khan Dangkao, Mr. VEN SOKUN, Dangkor Education Office, Mr. SOUNG SAM OL, Sangkat, Mr. JANG DONGWON, the country director of GNC, Prey Sa Primary School principal, and many teachers and students attended.

It is the second visit for Rotary Club members to Cambodia after their first visit last March when the members conducted a pre-visiting to conduct the ‘Playground Project with Dongtan Rotary Club- #1 Play here of MVL’ project. With the Rotary Club and MVL’s support, the playground is completed in September. We expect that this project result becomes
a great chan
ce to advocate ‘the right of the child to rest and leisure’ stated by UNCRC (The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) and to encourage the students to enjoy the play culture at the school.

In the handover ceremony, KIM SE HOON, the chairman of the Rotary Club, said, “I appreciate the school principal, teachers, and dear students for your warm welcome. I and my club members want to support this school constantly to let you, all students of Prey Sa Primary School, grow up healthy and study hard. and show their intention for constant support. Mr. Jang Dongwon, the country director of GNC explained, “I am glad that we, Good Neighbors Cambodia, could join this meaningful project and thank you for your all support and cooperation for this project. I and Good Neighbors Cambodia will do our best to support all the children who study at Prey Sa primary school can grow up healthy and finish their study well.”

Also, in the handover ceremony, Dongtan Rotary Club members distributed school gifts to all students of Prey Sa Primary School students to encourage their study. After the ceremony, they invited ten sponsored children with their guidance to the lunch. The Rotary Club members and the children enjoyed the lunch and had a great time together.

This project, ‘Play here’ of MVL’ is the first overseas donation project.
