On the 7th of December, Good Neighbors Cambodia announced that the graduation ceremony of the ‘IT Academy Support Project for Human Resources Development in Cambodia’ was completed successfully in cooperation with the Korea Software Human Resource Development Center (HRD Center) under the sponsorship of KB Kookmin Bank.​​ The ceremony was attended by 130 guests, including 59 graduates, Minister of Post and Communication of Cambodia Chea Vandeth, the Ambassador to Cambodia of Korea Park Chung-wook, and officials
from the Cambodian government and local companies.

Starting with enthusiastic applause, the graduates at the graduation ceremony shared their accomplishments through presentation videos and live project demonstrations about data analysis, mobile app development (Android, iOS), blockchain, and so on what they learned from the advanced class.​

Dr. Chea Vandeth, the Minister of Post and Communication representing the Cambodian government, expressed gratitude to Webcash, KB Kookmin Bank, and HRD Center for their support in developing IT human resources in Cambodia. He said, “I hope that the graduates from today can become essential talents for Cambodia’s digitalization, a 3D mid-to-long-term plan conducted by the Cambodian Government. In addition, Ambassador Park Chung-wook, who attended the event as a representative of the Korean government, stated, “The project is exemplary which leads a great cooperation between companies, governments, and NGOs through South Korea’s ODA projects. I hope that this project can take a role in producing many outstanding individuals in the IT industry in Cambodia.”

Representing KB Kookmin Bank, Mr. Hoeun Honey, executive vice president, congratulated the graduates of the 11th advanced course, expressing delight in participating in a meaningful project for the development of IT in Cambodia. He pledged continued support: “Starting this year and until 2027, KB Kookmin Bank and KB Prasac Bank will consistently sponsor this project for producing promising IT talent in Cambodia’s IT and digital technology development.”

Since 2012, KB Kookmin Bank(KB Prasc) has conducted various CSR activities in Cambodia such as cardiac patient support, scholarships for vulnerable students, and improving healthcare and education for the underprivileged.  As part of KB Kookmin Bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, the KB Bank supported the remodeling of the HRD Center and advanced course operation, creating a more comfortable environment for more Cambodian students to benefit from IT education at the HRD center.

Good Neighbors Cambodia, which is cooperating with the project as an NGO partner, has been continuing community development projects in education, health, WASH, and income generation sectors in cooperation with the government, related stakeholders, and partners to make the world a place without hunger where people live together in harmony since 2002.
